CPB Contractors, a member of the CIMIC Group, has been selected by Brisbane Airport Corporation to undertake the planning phase of the International Terminal Security and Retail Upgrade project.

Subject to the successful completion of the planning phase, a delivery phase will follow.

The project involves the reconfiguration and expansion of the International Terminal’s main security screening area and upgrading retail and administrative facilities.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said: “We are pleased to work with Brisbane Airport as it is a strategically important economic driver for Queensland. This security upgrade will ensure that the International Terminal has the infrastructure and facilities to continue to provide a high level of services as the population of Brisbane grows, and with it the number of passengers.”

CPB Contractors Managing Director Jason Spears said: “CPB Contractors worked closely with Brisbane Airport Corporation to successfully deliver other major projects including the new parallel runway and the northern access road. We’ll be applying that experience to ensure this project is delivered safely while minimising any disruption to passengers.”

Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said: “BAC is proud to partner with CPB Contractors to upgrade the International Terminal to enhance the passenger experience, streamline the passenger journey, and create a contemporary vibrant retail and duty-free experience.”

Works will involve design and general construction, building fit-out and the coordination of all project works.

The International Terminal Security and Retail Upgrade is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
